: : : Howdy
: : : Heres my question - a kid transfers private school when he is a 7th grader - then - transfers again to another private school in the 8th grade. Now - this coming year, he wants to transfer again to his 3rd private school and will be a 9th grader this Fall.
: : : In general, of course, not a good thing to do - but that said, would the kid have to sit out a year? Meaning, he never has played Varsity at all - how does that work?
: Kid is eligible. You can go to 100 schools. Transfer rule only applies once student attends first day of high school in fall.
: : : Thanks
: : My opinion is the player in question must sit out a year even though he has not played a single minute of Varsity ball. I believe it all boils down to how many times a player transfers school regardless of his level of play. (I might be wrong)
There are no rules. Documentation is everything! A player from X school district played on varsity team as a sophomore and got playing time. That high school team won the state championship. The next year, junior year he was at a different school in same X school district playing on that varsity team. The family did not have a change of residence. The boy will be a senior this year. Tell me how he was able to play without sitting one day???
Like I stated, documentation is everything. I also talked with this players dad and know what happened. Still, not sitting one day is a violation of CIF transfer rules. So, if one player can bend the rules EVERYONE else can also.
Documentation is everything. It is not what I know, it is what I can prove. If anyone gets stupid, I brake out the documentation and go legal. You gotta protect your family. Nobody else will.
Knowledge is power.
