: : : Did the Lakers just get the reincarnated version of Nick Van Exel? Small, quick, left handed, talented point guard with a bad attitude..
: : : Somewhere in Lake Havasu,Cedric Ceballos is rolling over on his jet ski..
: : : Well, it's only a 4 month rental anyway. But then Lonzo takes over. Damn if we do..damned if we don't. swap out bad attitude for bad attitude (and bad body language).
: : Package Thomas and The Testicle for somebody..
: The Testicle has terrible body language. Uncoachable to anyone not named LaVar..
: Yes daddy..no daddy..ok daddy.whatever you say daddy..
How is he uncoachable...? The team's 12-4 surge started with a four game winning streak w/ Ball in the lineup. Zo's last game was the Lakers' lone victory over the Mavericks in their last 14 meetings. Carlisle couldn't take Zo out of the game the way he did IT in the 2nd half when Isaiah was basically shut down.
Thomas can't be traded unless the Lakers re-sign him first, most likely he will leave for nothing if the Lakers don't bring him back on a one-year deal worth $20-25 million. Could also see the Lakers taking on Melo's salary and OKC's 1st round pick to give OKC the space to re-sign PG13. Lakers would buy out Melo and tank 2019 in hopes of drafting Zion Williamson.
Lonzo, if he can avoid knee injuries, is going to be a cross between Livingston and Jason Kidd. While not a superstar, he doesn't hijack possessions by overdribbling, and is dangerous on a ball reversal when he spots up. That is where his 3PT% is at its best. He has shown respect for veterans (didn't gloat after beating Wall), a willingness to mix it up with bigs (Nurkic, though he paid for it), and respected what LeBron told him. His father is 7,000 miles away guiding the sons that need him most. Lonzo is finding his own way. Plenty of NBA players are standoffish and seem aloof to outsiders, what his peers think is far more important than our perception. He hung his head after the Sixers game, after losing to some guys who cussed out his father, but in his 17 games since has recovered to post better stats than rookie Jason Kidd.
