: : In the city section, how they come up with the seeds for playoffs. What weighs more: maxpreps rankings or league record?
: their are 8 people who vote
: they can use anything they want to decide
: but H2H results and common opponents are strongly looked at
: the seedings for open should go like this
: 1 WHS
: 2 Fairfax
: 3 Taft
: 4 Narbonne
: 5 Crenshaw
: 6 University
: 7 El Camino Real
: 8 Birmingham
: View Park gets in if they beat Crenshaw tomorrow
: and Birmingham will drop out
Actually, City heavily ways head to head, probably more than they should.
If team X beats team Y, they are probably seeded higher.
Exception would be Team Y wins their league while Team X doesn't.
Every year, in either the boys or girls or both, there is a some seeding that makes you shake your head.
Maxpreps rankings only come into play if two teams are tied, then one tiebreaker is who has a win against highest ranked team in Maxpreps. Which is crazy since Maxpreps rankings are off all the time.
