: : : : : Castor Troy was right for years. Chino Hills is a better team without the Ball brothers there. I don't count the record as a factor. If Chino Hills had a coach, like the current one, who did not kneel to Lavar, Chino Hills would be one of the top TEAMS in the country right now; Big O's ranking would be even higher; Andre Ball would be further developed; And LaMelo would probably be a really good combo guard and know how to play.

: : : : They wouldn't need Melo. Cam Shelton would still be there if things had worked out differently and look what he's doing at Damien. Their current record is so because under Lavar's reign they didn't develop any of the guys while the Balls shot 100 shots a game. They lost numerous talented kids to other schools because they were smart enough to stay away. CHHS had their ONE season of glory but was it really worth it?

: : : I would say it was worth it because Chino Hills was always just a slightly above average school
: : : up until then. Then they got all the awards and got on the map. National awards, player and coach of the year and now they are still one of the better teams in the state. In the end they had one of the best seasons ever and upped their profile where people recognize the name Chino Hills. Just ask Chino or Ayala how they like trying to get incoming basketball kids from the local neighborhoods.

: : With LaMelo, probable Open team.
: : Without, probably not.
: : Above is all about if if if. If they were taller, if they had more skill, if they had a coach. blah blah blah

: Ok.....let's do the math. How does a team that is currently 8-6 (against much weaker talent) compare to a team that went 65-3 over two years (with one of those years being 35-0 against much tougher competition)?? Say what you want about the Ball family, but if Melo was still at CH, they would probably be undefeated and the top team in So Cal. (regardless of how bad this new coach evidenced in their current record).

Whoever wrote the last posting doesn't know anything about basketball. Those Chino Hills teams that went 65-3 had Lonzo (for a year), LiAngelo, and Eli Scott. LaMelo was allowed to hog the ball and jack up any stupid shot he wanted. Because of all the other good players, he was never exposed the way he would have been this year. The kid has skill but his father has probably already ruined him. His HS shooting percentage is around 30-35 % which is terrible. He plays no D and overdribbles every possession. Chino Hills would be a worse team with him this year.
