: : Crenshaw needs a change. It is clear the game has bipassed their coach. This team is filled with athletes not robots. This team could challenge for an open division title, if not for the bench not allowing players to play. The team looks like a team of 21 all stars. No direction, horrible spacing in half court and break situations, turnover after turnover Every loss this yr. can be traced directly to the bench and their horrible substitution patterns. This is varsity bro only the real play. Results thats it!. They even had a chance against Bishop if not for the bench. Coaches either suit up or shut up , but you cant play from the sideline. Games are won in practice thru preparation and drilled execution. No coach can dictate each pass each shot each possession and be successful. The Shaw wonders why they dont get respect in real basketball circles. YOUR NOT PLAYING REAL BALL. Last recruit was probably bean or maybe further back then that. Wake up Eddie W. Change is hard but a necessity to go to next level

: There's a few programs that need to changes coaches. Carson needs a change. Village Christian is raggedy. Narbonne's on a 2 year plan. Crenshaw might need a change later but not right now. The kids are athletes but not too many hoopers.

I understand the post above. Crenshaw is a storied program. It still resonates it so called brand, The Shaw Im a coach in the SB area with roots in the So Bay. Grew up City ball back in
the El Hut days. Crenshaw & Manual Arts ruled the inner city. But the last 20 years many things have changed. One, the charter & magnet schools have decimated enrollment at most the LA City schools. Coach Waters has brought his team to the IE area to play early season games. A couple years back, chit chatting with Coach Waters, we talked about the glory days of City b-ball. In talking, we talked about enrollment at The Shaw. I figured it was still 2k-3k range. He told me it was 1k range. Back in the day Crenshaw was 4000+ students. They didnt have to recruit then!
Coach Waters has won City titles at Crenshaw, albeit Div 2 or 3. I understand NOT OPEN Titles where they were a perennial powerhouse where Westchester & Fairfax are now. Coach is trying to bring back respectability at The Shaw!
