: : : : Mater Dei lost a few key pieces this summer. Is it taking its toll on their program?
: : : : PopScout
: : : Fuller never played a single regular season game for MD so not really sure how anyone can say they "lost" that piece. Bol for sure was a big loss. MD as usual will be fine though.
: : I would like to confess that I actually read the popscout article and will never get that time back. Seriously, what is so hard to understand about Bol's Mother moving back to Kansas and that the CIF has rules regarding transfers that include a player having to reside with his family unit. Bol was not going to be able to live on his own and remain eligible for Mater Dei. Those are the facts that I know. MD played three freshmen extensively at City of Palms. One started every game, and another started the last game when Butler sat out to recover from an injury. Those three all played well against top national competition. I guess the dynasty is over and they have no future. Give me a break. The stories of Mater Dei's demise are greatly exaggerated! No one at Mater Dei misses Bol and he would have not made them a better team. Fuller is a great talent, but as outsider pointed out they never really had him.
: Don't like them but know a great program when i see one. Those Freshmen are getting valuable experience and MD will be just fine. Like previous poster said Fuller never played a game and losing Bol is actually a plus for the program. He was a circus!
MD will be fine... But MD fans don't like fine. They haven't had their standard of success since they pulled all the strings to get Stanley Johnson his 4th state title... They will consider this another year lost.
