: : : : : : : Saw West Ranch play Alemany today. Lost by 6 but looked impressive. Decent size for a public school, and competed with Alemany. Probably most impressed by the light skin guard they have with the long hair. Handled the ball, got some shots, and moves his feet on defense. I would assume they’ll be in the mix with Hart and Valencia.

: : : : : : The new coach at Valencia is in for a rough ride. His team did not look impressive at all this weekend, and his kids just don't compete hard at all. I was only able to catch the first half of the West Ranch game against Alemany, and while they were severely outsized, they competed. Still think Hart is the best team in the league, but I'd say WR is #2.

: : : : : League Champs
: : : : : ===============
: : : : : 2012 WR/Canyon [8-2]
: : : : : 2013 WR [9-1]
: : : : : 2014 Hart [10-0]
: : : : : 2015 Hart/Valencia[8-2]
: : : : : 2016 Hart [10-0]
: : : : : 2017 Hart/Valencia [7-3]

: : : : : ...Considering that no schools have any impact transfers coming in and below is a solid synopsis on the players grad and players coming back:

: : : : :
: : : : : Co-Players of the Year:

: : : : : Whitten Dominguez, Jr., Hart
: : : : : Dexter Akanno, Jr., Valencia

: : : : : First Team

: : : : : Yvan Yomba, Sr., Canyon
: : : : : Ben Kaufman, Sr., Hart
: : : : : Zach Phipps, Sr., Saugus
: : : : : Anthony McIntyre, Sr., Saugus
: : : : : Jayden Trower, So., Valencia
: : : : : Austin Galuppo, Jr., West Ranch

: : : : :
: : : : : Second Team

: : : : : Josue Valencia, Sr., Canyon
: : : : : Richard Kawakami, So., Golden Valley
: : : : : Renz Brual, Sr., Hart
: : : : : Zach Hawkins, Jr., Valencia
: : : : : Chris Kodama, Sr., West Ranch
: : : : : Suren Aghazadian, Sr., West Ranch

: : : : : Honorable Mention

: : : : : Jack Yerem, Sr., Canyon
: : : : : Josh Martin, So., Golden Valley
: : : : : Caleb Waldeck, Jr., Hart
: : : : : Luke Bodeau, Jr., Saugus
: : : : : Kyler Motoyasu, Sr., Valencia
: : : : : Andrew Austin, So., West Ranch

: : : : : Fearless Prediction
: : : : : =====================
: : : : : Valencia 9-1
: : : : : Hart 8-2
: : : : : WR 7-3
: : : : : Saugus 3-7
: : : : : GV 2-8
: : : : : Canyon 1-9

: : : : Valencia with a major downgrade in terms of coaching staff. Someone please explain to me how Trower is 1st Team? That’s garbage.

: : : : Hart 9-1
: : : : WR 8-2
: : : : Valencia 7-3
: : : : Saugus 4-6
: : : : GV 2-8
: : : : Canyon 0-10

: : : No way WR finished over Valencia the coaching at both schools is less than desirable but the talent is much better overall at Valencia. Hart is still the team to beat. Kelly has a solid returning core lead by his two main guards. We all know Kelly has the kids ready to play.

: : 2 main guards? Dominguez and who else?

: I agree. I saw west ranch this summer beat paraclete by 30 with Scranton. Their team is talented enough to make a run in the league. That really is a 3 horse race with hart and Valencia.

: are nice but history tells us West Ranch always under achieves. At some point that's not the players but the coaches problem. Can't win the important games.

Valencia was 15-12 last year so that was a great season. Didn't really play a tough preseason schedule. Got "hot" in league or was the league down? I can't tell.

Hart is always playing hard. Kelly makes sure of that but this may be there last run. Cupboard bare after this year.

2 horse race between Valencia and Hart

West Ranch in 3rd

Golden Valley and Saugus battle for 4th and 5th

Canyon 0-10 again. Time to start over there. Maybe hire an actual coaching staff.
