: Push the Power ranking further! We are all familiar with "fantasy leagues"? What is the basic attribute associated with the "fantasy" concept? Its the "individual" players. They each have been assigned various performance metrics. CIF, MaxPreps or some Independent Third party can establish a statistical breakdown of every player once they begin their High School career. Aren't game statistics reported? Why could then there not be a means to "rank" player performance? This "rank" would reside with each player regardless of the team he is associated with. This will address the "transfer" thing as well. Of course, a "weighting" would be needed to address non-Varsity played statistics. Once a team commits its varsity roster you then establish a so called "Power Rank". The concept can be trialed using historical data as well to compare current method result outcomes. Heck, it could even carry-over into Club performance as well! Which could be the likely funding source to establish the service!
: Again, transparency CIF! It will make you free!
: Post a sample calculation of a season score using a generic team's values but just be sure to address all exceptions and year to year variations!
Completely unaffordable! Who would take down all the stats or record the games of 600+ Southern Section teams? Even Synergy couldn't do that for HS. Then there's the challenge of handicapping certain levels of competition so dominant teams from weak leagues don't end up overrated or vice versa.
Ok, just read that part about JV stats...you got me. Good troll. How did I not catch that
