: : : : my son is 13 and I am looking for a good team for him to play on before entering high school. I am hoping to find a team in the mid LA area or the valley. Can anyone lead me in the right direction. Thanks

: : : Seems pretty legit to warn parents

: : Village has no class frfr. If you want a good place for your son don't look at Village. Avoid Heritage Christian to. Chaminade is daddy ball so avoid. If your on the west end of San Fernando look at Viewpoint. They need players at all positions and Coach Prince is a good one. Alemany is cool. Crespi has one of the best coaches in California.

: I think I can help you..give me an email.

Pick the school first, then look at the basketball as a component of the decision.

Viewpoint, like Harvard Westlake, is very demanding academically. Tons of homework and grades are almost it's own sport there.

Alemany is not a great school, unless you are in all the AP type classes.

Crespi not that great academically either. But you are right, White is a great coach.

Village and Heritage are small schools with lots of drama and issues unto themselves.

Chaminade has probably exited the Daddy ball area. It's a good second tier private school academically (after HW and Viewpoint and Notre Dame and Buckley).

Best advice is to visit the schools, see if you can find someone you know who goes/went to each one and pick their brain.

In the end, grades are most important. If your kid is elite (college type player), the looks come from travel ball anyway.
