: : : : : : : Anyone have any thoughts on the top 10 teams in the L.A. City Section for 2017-2018 season?
: : : : : : 1.Fairfax
: : : : : : 2.Westchester
: : : : : : 3.Taft
: : : : : : 4. Narbonne
: : : : : : 5.Birmingham
: : : : : : 6.El Camino
: : : : : : 7.Van Nuys
: : : : : : 8.Crenshaw
: : : : : : 9.University
: : : : : : 10. View Park
: : : : : Drop Westchester down on the list, several key and significant players have transferred. Those players will have important roles on a CIF Southern Section team.
: : : You forgot to include Dorsey, Washington Prep, Granada Hills and Sylmar in your discussion somewhere. Those teams have a lot of players returning from a very good year last season.
: : If Westchester's summer league team stays their team into next season, then they will be fine. That big that transferred over is nice to go along with their guard. Interested to see how Birmingham does as they were rocked by graduation. Washington Prep looked good this summer with the big kid they have. Assuming they're all together, Rancho Dominguez might be the biggest sleeper team in the City.
: What team will the Westchester transfers be with? CIF SS school? That's a tease
: Also the big kid from Washington is impactful and I agree puts them in top 10 of this list. They have some nice guards too.
Dorsey- New unexperienced coach. Young talent but there will be a power struggle between new coach and the Dorsey community. They will play with little structure and there young athletes won't beable to figure it out in year 1.
Washington Prep- graduated most of there contributors. They have a talented quick guard but can he carry the team vs. bigger stronger teams. He's way undersized. The big question is, can they run a play to get a tough bucket or will they try and run run run run run run. Everyone knows you need a little structure when you play tougher more disciplined teams. The Wash House has ZERO discipline.
Granada- well Coached, but can they figure it out. Talented returning guy but can the others keep up him. They will play hard.
Sylmar- lost there two top guys. They usually have a guy who can go get a tough bucket. The current returning group can't do it. The Lefty is good but he's too little play thru contact. Without a major transfer who can go get it, sylmar may struggle.
Rancho Dominguez- they have a few athletes. It will be interesting to see if they get snatched up. THE COACHING ON CAMPUS IS HORRIFIC. The head coaches son takes every bad shot and the team plays like they know it's all about the son. No coaching, No accountability, and No fundamentals = BAD. BASKETBALL. Good luck fixing those issues!
