: : : : : Zone or help, that's it. They have to hide him defensively. Absolutely have to. Has no idea of defensive concepts.
: : : : Caruso is a nice PG. At this point De Aaron was the choice, but time will only tell. The lack of being able to stay in front of anybody is all on daddy. Dude never cared about defense.
: : : Is this the men's forum or bitches forum? The jealousy is crazy.
: : Lonzo plays solid team defense for a rook, both vocal and active. Man-to-man he needs work, but is he worse than Clarkson or DLo at this stage?
: : DeAaron was a bad fit for the Lakers. This Lakers roster has no proven shooters (until Ingram learns how to spot up). Off-ball, Fox would be useless in halfcourt, while Lonzo can play on or off the ball. Fox would struggle as a rookie and hear daily how Magic and Robb screwed up the pick.
: : Brook Lopez is the Lakers' best three point shooter, so Fox would see a lot of help defense swarming him as a Laker. Can't live on 20-foot iso pull-ups. Better off playing hot potato with Lonzo, who also has the highest ceiling in the draft. Also, the buzz around town is that LeBron and PG13 are Lakers bound, so Lonzo is a no-brainer if that's the plan.
: Nothing to be jealous about. Just one man making a point. Take it as it is. Solid defense at this point, questionable. Man-to-man needs work, lol. To not love the intensity and sheer Westbrook quickness is flat out crazy! Like it was said before, time will tell. And why does Lonzo have the highest ceiling in the draft?
If Alex Caruso and a couple of G Leaguers beat Lonzo and the full-strength summer Lakers, the whole board would be dancing on the BBB's grave right now. He would not even be China bound, socalhoops would suggest Tibet or Outer Mongolia.
Fox doesn't have Westbrook or Wall's frame or speed. Not even the craziest Kentucky fan calling into the Finebaum show would suggest that. Lonzo will never be the ball hawk Fox is but team defense is more important since zones are legal.
Out of all the guards in the draft, Lonzo is the best passer, sees two passes ahead, has the frame to guard most wings and guards, and can play without the basketball. He's shown a good first step, even going to his left, just needs to stop avoiding contact once he gets stronger. He won't ever be great defending the ball, but can and will learn the angles to take and tendencies of his opponents. He creates enough space on his step-back, and his release is as quick as Klay's, though he brings the ball too low at first.
