: : : : : : : : : Alemany
: : : : : : : : : Crespi
: : : : : : : : : Loyola
: : : : : : : : : HW
: : : : : : : : : Chaminade
: : : : : : : : : ND/St. Francis (Toss up for the basement)
: : : : : : : : : Pretty easy to figure out
: : : : : : : : : : : : : The Mission league is completely up for grabs. If Brandon Williams plays then Crespi is the favorite. If he doesn't then there should be a lot of parody. Notre Dame and St Francis will look like they're tanking for a lottery pick, but that's just them. The other teams will battle it out.
: : : : : : : : : : : :
: : : : : : : : : : : : Alemany should be the favorites, they've won league 3 years in a row while going 34-2 in the process. They return a 7 footer and a 4 year starter at point guard. Meeks has built a solid program over there.
: : : : : : : : : : : Alemany lost Davis. Say what you want about him, he played defense on the other team's better player.4 year starter means what? DJ's cool. 7 footer means what? LB Poly wasn't concerned when they ran Alemany out the gym. I saw that game & JSerra.
: : : : : : : : : : : The Mission is wide open bro. The bottom teams will be St Francis, Notre Dame & Chaminade.
: : : : : : : : : : I agree losing Davis and Sears hurts, however the same things were being said when Daron Henson left. And all Alemany did was go out and win the mission league. That year Crespi had Melton and Williams and Alemany still went 11-1 in league.
: : : : : : : : : : No other team in the mission has a footer. And last time I checked having a footer in high school that can run the floor and play above the rim is a difference maker. DJ is really good on both ends of the floor, he's going to surprise people this year.
: : : : : : : : : : Both LB Poly and JSerra are open division teams. There's no shame in losing to open teams in the playoffs. The topic was the mission league. And with half of Harvard Westlake transferring out Alemany remains the favorites until they get knocked off. And yes Chaminade, St. Francis, and Notre Dame will be at the bottom of the league.
: : : : : : : : Meeks can't coach. He has lost numerous of players in his program due to his inability to win games, develop players, and put kids into the college ranks. Many families have left his program inspite of free tuition cuz he is an inadequate game coach and never wins in the playoffs.
: : : : : : : Meeks is a bad coach and let's not overrate the talent at Alemany.
: : : : : : : Can't develop players and can't win the big game. He isn't a coach then. I've been watching him for a while and he can't
: : : : : : Motivate the players either. Maybe he should try another sport. Lol.
: : : : : Alemany will run away with it. Loyola and HW will compete all season long. St Francis lost seniors and transfers so not looking good. And Crespi better hope Williams is back. Who knows what is happening at "As the Chaminade Turns."
: : : : When Meeks took over at Alemany they were at the bottom of the mission league, getting smacked by Harvard Westlake and Loyola. Now they are favorites to win the league year in and year out. They are the only mission league team to consistently compete in the open, and his kids play hard for him.
: : : Meeks is not a great coach but let's he's not a bad coach either. "Bad" is relative but let's be fair. "Bad" is Ryan Moore (former Chaminade). 1-11 league record with a 7'0" D1 center and Notre Dame and St. Francis in the league. "Bad" is Paul Tait (Heritage Christian). Have you seen the #24 ranked team in the country play? Can't develop talent and for some reason nobody is talking about the 8th grade rinse and repeat 3x holdback program that he's running over there. "Bad" is John Shaw (formerly Village Chr) who was running a 3 man weave at the top of the key and was so bad that former players are thanking me on twitter for speaking the truth. You're welcome.
: : : Meeks isn't Coach White or Coach Adams. But his players do play hard and they seem to like him. A coach is with the kids a lot of hours during the week. Character means something and should trump the fact that he'll stay in man-to-man too long. Lol.
: : : Alemany was 12-0 in league last year but I still think that it's a wide open field this year. Except for St. Francis and Notre Dame. Alemany graduated Brandon Davis, Earnie Sears and KJ Warren. Let's not forget that Alemany also seems to lose kids every year. The field is open.
: : Alemany won't the Mission League not because of Meeks, but because of its players. Brandon Davis lead the team each year for three years to win Mission League.
: DJ was the league MVP. The mission league runs thru Alemany until someone knocks them off. You gotta beat the champ to become the champ.
First, would Brandon's parents stop trying to post like they are some random unbiased fan. You're so obvious. You're good. He's got his offer so go post on some UCSB board about how great he is.
Second, the Mission League is completely up for grabs. HW lost all their NBA stars *that was sarcasm btw so you are completely speculating about them right now. Crespi will do fine regardless, because they have a great coach. ND has a new coach who actually knows how to do his job and teach kids some skills so don't count them out just yet. I think we might be surprised by them this year. Alemany, is up in the air if you ask me. St Francis also has a great coach and he makes due with he has and doesn't whine about the school not caring, the AD not giving him what he needs, not having talent, or any of the other sorry excuses bad coaches give when they lose.
