: : : So why has it become a thing that no one even cares about the freaking hold backs anymore. Everyday when I watch highlights of players that we're in my son's grade when he was in fourth grade or so, and now they're like two or three years below. Yet it's gotten to a point where no one even mentions it anymore, instead they just talk about the problem with transfers. It's gotten pretty out of control. An example of this is Cassius Stanley, who's a double hold back. Everyone talks about how phenomenal he is, yet he should be going into his freshman year of college. So has it become an acceptance thing with it since there's not much anyone can do at this point, or is everyone so crappy that they don't even care anymore?
: : My son could've been held back 5 times and he still couldn't jump like that guy. I'm not a fan of holdbacks either but sometimes these kids are really special
: When the kid is 11 and plays up a grade or two everyone sees high talent. Than the kid turns 18 and he wants to play down. Which one is it people?! Hopefully the young man gets a quality education because basketball is NOT in his future. ANY holdbacks tell everyone he just does not have what you wish he did. There are only 400 NBA player jobs. Wake up and face reality. This seems like a classic case of a future welfare baby. Dog chasing it's own tail.
Holdbacks complaints are old and honestly who cares? If you want to hold your kid back...do it! If you don't...then don't complain about those that do. In the end of the day you're not going to stop it, people will always looks for an advantage....that's in anything in life. No one seems to care when kids are held back to be more mature for education purposes'...there are plenty of people who hold back there kids for intellectual reasons to get the benefits of maturity and focus for education and no one complains about that. Kids that are held back to get an academic advantage is the same thing...they're competing for the academic scholarships and/or acceptance to good schools. Either learn to play the game or play something else! Here's a piece of advice....let others mind there business and you mind yours. Complaining doesn't get you anywhere...find a way to your end goal and use any advantage to get there. Life is unforgiving and there is no sympathy...so get yours with out hurting anyone and your will be fine.
