: : "If Ben Simmons was playing all these comparisons to Magic would be a mute point. There will never be another Magic but Simmons comes closer than anybody today!"
: : I wonder if Magic would have averaged 4.8 assists and 3.9 turnovers in SEC conference play as Simmons did. Even rookie LeBron did better at 18 against superior competition (5.9/3.5). Ben is like having D'Angelo Russell's passing in Blake Griffin's body with less of a vertical, but all the carelessness of a rookie. The passes Ben makes are more mixtape than they are Magic. However, Ben's defense around the rim is often overlooked.
: : As for Ball, NBA scouts already think he is on the slow side for point guards, he won't add more than 15 lbs to his frame over his career, unless he becomes a swingman.
: : Lonzo needs to avoid Ben Simmons' trainer...never heard of a player putting on 20-25 lbs before a rookie season, especially after his conditioning was suspect in summer league.
LeBron had a season against pros under his belt by that age. But Ben really showed those guys on North Florida and Kennesaw State...too bad his numbers suffered against conference opponents. Aside from Kentucky, the SEC isn't that great for a major conference.
Those highlights are more Blake Griffin-esque than Magic or LeBron. He is quicker than Blake and does handle the ball better (now 25 pounds heavier though), just with less of a vertical. Once he get's Blake's jumper he will be a legit all star, though that took Blake years to develop. But, Magic and LeBron could play any position, Ben can only play two in the modern NBA.
