: : Thing of beauty, ??????ONE CIF, State, and National Championship, large crowds don't mean anything as a measure of success, people line up for wrestling matches Chino hills is a blip on the screen, they will not endure, next year they will be less than this year, and when the last kid is gone, back to the average public school
: A true measure of greatness is consistancy year after year, it's sad that a community places it's identity on the backs of high school kids,

What's really sad is that one parent with three talented kids was able to singlehandedly hijacked an entire public school program 5 years ago and maintain iron fisted control without any authority and seemingly without any high level supporters. It would make sense if he and the superintendent were boys going back to Lavar's heyday when he dominated at Wazzu, CSULA and in the NFL, but he doesn't and, of course he didn't. It would make sense if the principals, ADs, Vice Principals and parents that have gone through CHHS since hurricane Lavar arrived on the scene liked and respected him and if the Ball family cared a fraction as much about anyone or anything in the communuty, at the school or in the program as they care about their selfish interest, then I could see it. But none of that happened. He doesn't have friends and supporters in high places like that and still got it done. Wonder what recruits he will get to fill in for Gelo and Eli? Wonder what coach he is gonna get to replace Gilling because of their supposed differences, though I don't see any departure of strategy or game plan between what Lavar demands and what Gilling allows? "Get the Ball to my boys and let them shoot every time!" Did that not happen? Is it Billings fault that they shoot 30-40 footers at a very poor percentage? Is it fillings fault that Gelo averaged 1 rebound? Is it Gillings fault Melo was shooting from an average of 30 feet this season? Me thinks not.
