: I have been joking about Van Nuys basketball for years. Did anyone know that they're good this year? I'm serious. They're actually good. Who's the coach and how long before a private school nabs him? It's almost time for Winward to get jittery and make a coaching change isn't it? It would be good to see the public schools do well and get recognized when they deserve it. And not all change is good.
: Which leads me to KJ Martin. The rumors are true. He's leaving Chaminade to go to Sierra Canyon. Sierra lost to Bishop Montgomery because of coaching. We've been saying all year, and for the past 4 years, that the coaching is terrible. You can't play streetball and expect to beat a team, even with less talent, that has a coach that can adjust in game and actually coach. Cody Riley is the same player that he's been as a freshman. I understand that KJ wants the bigger stage and schedule. But he needs to improve and that's not going to happen at Sierra Canyon.
: The sad part about it is that KJ would've stayed if it wasn't for Chaminade's stint with nepotism that caused kids to leave, including Maker. Now the dominoes continue to fall. Ryan Moore's inept coaching plays a role in this but also Webb and the athletic director. With the amount of kids that transfers out you have to look at the AD for not even looking at what's going on.
: Now what? As much as I like Palarz, I said that he's going to regret taking the Chaminade job. He has to now. Oh no... he's going to micromanage the heck out of the team next year. He may have to.
Just curious...how is this on the AD?
I have been reading and laughing along with your story of what is going on there for months; and it has always been that it is the President and his guy from Impact(?) calling the shots.
AD works for the President in most schools. I'm sure he would like to keep his job. What was/is he supposed to do?
Not trying to stir things up, just saying logically whoever the AD is probably doesn't have much to say on this.
