: : : : : Nice LAT/Eric Sondheimer piece about Bishop's starting five: the sole Open Division semifinalist without a transfer starter. Call me old school but, in this age of drop-of-a-hat, multiple transfers, there's something gratifying about a school still riding the season with neighborhood kids and the loyalty being reciprocated. Bravo, BM!

: : : : It is a private school so if by neighborhood you mean Southern California then I get it. I really like Bishop Mont and they are by far the best coached team in the final four of the open. Kids play tough, are coached hard, and are a really complete team.
: : : No transfers..true. All recruited to go to Bishop when they should have been at other schools..also true. Undue influence rule at its finest. Neighborhood kids my ass. Not a soul from Torrance or even close to it. By they way North Torrance (semifinals Div.2) and West Torrance (playing for Div.4AA Title Saturday)..home grown local kids. There's your article Sondheimer. There's your Torrance neighborhood kids. But they aren't in the beloved OPEN DIVISION..so who cares, right. Idiots.
: : I agree on many things. Coach Douglas is an excellent coach but he has hand picked players that are groomed to be basketball players for years. Good luck BM this weekend
: The players played for SP Knights AAU team for years. They are not local. The starting pg stays in Lakewood/LB. That being said, it really doesnt matter. They are doing and have always done a fine job of coaching those kids
didn't m. johnson's kid transfer in as a junion?? i know he doesn't start but he does get time.... not local kids at all, but really appreciate their style and team work.. great ball to watch
