: : Let's spin this whole thing forward 10-15 years - the Ball brothers all have left Chino Hills and gone on to their next level of challenges. Their lives away from basketball run the normal course and they begin to start their own families ... my biggest concern for them is that most of us parent like we've been parented and the only role model they have had has taught them that self-promotion is first and always win at all cost regardless of who you step on while you get yours.

: That's deep and true.

I like to think I am a good father and role model for my children. Wife and extended family have been heavily involved and influential in my children''s lives. My dad was a great provider an entrepreneur and great guy, most of the time, but he did some stuff that wasn't so cool with discipline (very corporal) and was a bit of a playboy. I like to say I learned a double lesson from my dad. A whole lot of great stuff like his work ethic and drive and determination to be great, but also a lot of what not to do. The Ball kids, I think, have the same in Lavar. Take away the buffoonery and how he hinacked the program and all the stupid shit that has come out of his mouth and you got a dude that is as committed as any dad ever (some say he SHOULD be committed, but I digress). Dude is an a hole, no doubt, but he is there to push, protect, prop up publicize his kids. Don't think he drinks or smokes and is from what I can tell a solid dude that cares about his kids and is in their live 💯. More guys should be like him, minus the antics and asinine shit that comes out of his mouth
