Anybody from New York here? Follow me on twitter so that o can ask you a couple of questions. @SoCalJCred
A friend of mine from New York was said "We're the Mecca of basketball. We deserve better than what we have." Ok New Yorkers... you can stop now. The New York media bias is over. We have espn here now to. You can keep Hannah Storm. We have Cari Champion. By the way, does anyone know if she like cream in her coffee or just black? Anyhoo...
...Back to you New Yorkers. I will be the first to admit that SoCal natives live in an odd fantasy world. (If you're an Angeleno and don't know this then you've never traveled. But it's Hollywood.) But what fantasy are New Yorkers in to think that it's the Mecca of hoops. It wasn't created there. The Big East is a distant memory. Is it still a conference? Wait... Butler is in the Big "East"? Ok..... you have 2 NBA teams that are d-league teams. Are you still holding on to the Ewing years? May I remind you that Patrick Ewing doesn't have a championship. High school? Really? How's Felipe Lopez? Has there been anyone since? Lance Stephenson?
We have our share of overrated guys. Look, Lamelo Ball is one of the most overrated high school players ever and I don't understand how we're ignoring that. But don't tell me "if this was NYC we wouldn't give him that fake recognition." Really? Wasn't Sebastian Telfair on the cover of S.I.? You hyped him up so much that he skipped college altogether.
I admire your desire to hold on to the belief that you're the Mecca of basketball but you're not. I'd give it to the Research Triangle in North Carolina before I'd give it to New York. But don't think that you're ahead of SoCal. I'm not saying that we're the Mecca of hoops. But if there's a line to claim that title, we're in the front and you're not on it.
