: : We are considering OLU or Crean for our son next year. Does anyone have any insight on the quality of the programs and how the coaches are at each school?

: Nordstrom at Olu doesn't get very high marks and his teams are dependent upon talent. I've had/seen my fair share of transfers out of their lower levels because of various reasons. Like any team in the Trinity, you're only important until a better player transfers in.

: Crean is working its way up and I personally like the coaches as people. They play a good schedule and the players seem to enjoy being on the team.

: Overall though, choose one of those schools if it fits what you're looking for in a school environment, not because of basketball. If you want your son to go to a Lutheran school then more power to you, but I personally would just choose a public and let my son make his mark there. Basketball is only one aspect of the high school experience.

Yes its only one aspect but if your kid ends up playing varsity its a huge aspect. If you live in a good area with a good public school, that should be put in to strong consideration.

I agree with the poster above, let your son make his mark there. Now for the OLU vs Crean... Although OLU facilities are top notch, your son would most likely get better development at Crean.
