: : : : : Is this true? If you don't have a .500 record or better you cannot apply to playoffs as at-large.
: : : : : Our team is below .500 by one game, and not in top 3 of league. But we are in top 25 of Maxpreps playoff prediction due to strength of schedule. We cannot apply?
: : : : We just received confirmation last week that this is true. Regardless of what MaxPreps ranks your team, they will need to finish .500 to apply for an at large birth.
: : : Say goodbye to 32 team brackets, 20-24 will now be the norm..
: : The rumor on the street is that there is a discussion to try and get that rule waived but that it won't happen this year. I just looked at Div 2A and there are right now 23 teams in and another 5-6 teams with a chance to qualify and get in. Max would be 29 but realistically it will be about 26 or 27 teams out of the 39 in the division.
: Village always gets into the playoffs by booking an easy schedule. Last year they got knocked out by Valencia because of bad coaching & this year bad coaching cost them their team & now barely .500. I think that they have to win 1 or 2 more games to get to the playoffs. Tonight they play us & it will make it hard for them to get in. Heritage wins tonight by at least 20!
Did you really throw Lakewood in that list? The Moore league is so weak this year. Jordan lost their best player. Compton has know height or D1 guys like usual. Millikan doesn't have a point guard or anyone over 6"2. Wilson beat them with a first year coach. Cabrillo is Cabrillo. Lakewood has the most talent even after losing two starters. The have the height of Poly and the speed of Millikan. They should not be in the list of a good team in a tough league/division.
