: : : : : : : : I feel Paul Pierce had too good of a career to be going out like he is.
: : : : : : : : Paul should've retired two years ago in my opinion. Why would you hang around ride the bench, it takes away from your legacy in my opinion. Maybe he needs the money which I think is rediculous. Its a dimm light on his legacy, what do you all think?

: : : : : : : I think you have too much time on your hands....

: : : : : : Doesn't take anything away. Paul is HOF and all time Celtic great. Paul has a job that he loves ands wants to play as long as he can. I've seen him play since he was a sophomore at Inglewood High. Arguably has had the best pro career of anyone from the Los Angeles area.

: : : : : True That, that's my point, I love what he has accomplished as a NBA player but to see him just sitting on the bench not playing, is he's not going out on top? No, he's draining the well I get it. Paul has had a spotless career, role model for young players. I think he should be in the broadcast booth. And this is a basketball forum Mr. Too Much time on your hand.

: : : : Doc Rivers should be ashamed of how he has disrespected Pierce with the playing time and how he plays him (spotting up at the 3pt line)??? Yes, Pierce is a shell of what he used to be but he can still play from the elbow and hit the mid-range jumper in his sleep. Pierce could still be helping the Clips if they were to incorporate him into the offense and use what's left of his talents to the benefit of the team. As it is now, if he plays, it is with the 2nd unit which is nothing but YMCA basketball (Jamal Crawford or Austin Rivers looking to go one=on-one). Doc has sold his soul to trying to promote his son as an NBA player and that sacrifice is to the detriment of the team and it kills any hope of playoff success.

: : : : Sick of you !

: : Pierce disrespected himself when he got taken off on a wheelchair against the Lakers and came running back 5 minutes later. kobe tore up his achilles and refused to be taken out of the game. Pierce was a very good to great player, but Doc owes him nothing. Doc needs to win, now. Tell him to collect his check and be ready to go if someone goes down, period.

: Right!!! He disrespected himself right into an NBA championship and the NBA Finals MVP (over Kobe). Doc owes him the respect that he deserves from a great career and to go out with respect. Hell Vince Carter is a year older than Pierce and he played 30 minutes tonight. Doc needs to be fired this year after they fail in the playoffs again!

I don't think this is a Doc issue, Going back to the question, Paul has had a too good of career to be setting on the clippers bench. He's a HOF. He also made the decision to play for the clippers, maybe Doc made him promises behind closed doors.
Paul is taking a back seat it's not necessary.
