: : : : : Khalil Washington left Heritage Christian. HC isn't tripping on this transfer. But add him to the Starr brothers and the kids that left for the Foothill league then isn't that around 5 transfers out in a year? I get why the Starr bros went to Village Christian. Their dad's friend is the hc. But why is Washington going to Faith Baptist? That's not an academic or athletic move. Is there something going on that the rest of us don't know about Heritage or Faith Baptist?
: : : : kid couldnt probably get on the court. heritage has young talent coming in next year as well. probably a good move to down grade to a smaller school and get some pt
: : : Ben Todd (2020) was supposed to go to HC and ended up at Faith Baptist. Not sure if there is a connection there or if it's coincidence. He probably saw an opportunity to play more minutes as well in the Heritage league, and based on Faith Baptist first league game against Valley Torah, they need reinforcements. Plus Tim Thomas is the coach, so maybe he's loading up on bigs he can develop.
: : Faith Baptist is a bad team. Really bad. Ben Todd is there because his handler is an assistant coach & Ben is the only "option." It was a good move for Washington to go there to get minutes but there really isn't any high level talent there. Heritage Christian shed no tears about any of the transfers. Washington was maybe on jv. The youngest Starr would probably end up on HC's jv but transferred to a school were he can play varsity. Jordan Starr was going to come off of the bench and he transferred to a school that he's going to start and possibly play pg. He'd be terribly out of position but he'll get to do it there.
: Heritage Christian's coach thinks short and long term. He has good underclassmen so he plays them. Daniels is a combo type guard that's doing well and Depina is doing very well. The head coach loves Depina and building with the frosh, they win games and have a bright future. The coach put his best on the floor. Some kids just wasn't going to play so they transferred. Good for them to seek pt. But when it's daddy ball, like what people are saying Village Christian will be, then it's a problem. Don't tell me that Jordan Starr is a pg. Lol. Boatwright and Starr is bumping 2 guys from the starting spot on that team. Is that fair idk, but hey daddy ball rules at VC. The freshman pg should be starting now as is. So he's eating pine in January.
: HC had guys transferred out because they can't play but Village should have guys transfer out because they can play. I'll say it over and over, Henry and Jones need to leave. Jones would look good at Heritage next year. He might backup Depina but he'd get playing time and know what he's getting from a coach that cares about you and not trying to bring in transfers every 30 days. I know the coaches at Heritage but I'm not being biased. I've said that they're not #22 in the country. Lol. But don't compare them to Village. It's a growing program at Heritage.
If Heritage was 6-4 would you say that? The answer's probably "no" and as crazy as it seems wins and losses aren't the only thing that matters. Heritage has a good thing going and a solid future. But with so many kids transferring something's up. You can't say that Village is a shady spot w/out wondering a little about Heritage. Forget wins & loses. I'm in no way a Village guy or fan. I'm just saying that something must be up at Heritage to.
