Prep Preview and Report
NoHo Update --October 13, 1997

One of the North Hollywood players pointed out a few minor inaccuracies concerning our original report on October 5, and also noticed that we didn't have the JV listed. Here's our source's take on the Varsity and JV for now--verbatim. Remember, this isn't from the coach, but is from one of the players on the team (who will remain anonymous for now) so whether these are the actual starting lineups and bench players by the time the season starts is anyone's guess. Anyway here goes:

JV STARTING FIVE:

PG - Michael Erush - Soph. 5'10 - Very good court vision, great passer, future Var. PG.
SG - Ricky Urbina - Junr. 5'7 - Small but quick, great shooter.
SF - Nelson Villatoro - Junr. 5'11- All around player, good inside/outside game,aggresive.
PF - Eruvei Alvarado - Junr. 6'0 - Skinny but agile and good shooting ability.
C - Yan Karim - Soph. 6'3 - Great post player, rebounder, Var. PF/C next year.

Probable JV Bench (as of 10/12/97)

Ronald Diaz - Junr. 5'10
Daniel Guerrero - Soph. 6'0
Mohammed Haroun - Junr. 6'0
Matt Hicks - Soph. 5'9
Jonah Hoffman-Ellis - Junr. 6'1
Mario Mendoza - Junr. 5'8
Jeff Pineda - Soph. 5'9
Richard Sherman - Junr. 6'0
Daniel Wasserman - Junr. 5'7
Patrick Yeghnazar - Junr. 6'2

VARSITY STARTING FIVE:

PG - DeJon Lee - Sr. 5'10 - Amazing jumping ability, quick, great penetration.
SG - Arsen ??? (a transfer) - Sr. 5'6 - Short, very quick and fast, good handles.
SF - Keron Wilkerson - Sr. 6'3 - Star of the team, Tremendous shooter, good
penetration.
PF - Chinnua Wright - Sr. 6'3 - Big and strong, great rebounder, powerful in the post.
C - Jon Hicks - Sr. 6'2, 260 lb.- Very agile and fast for weight, good post moves.

Probable Varsity Bench:
