Last NoHo Update for now--October 13, 1997

In order to check on the accuracy of our "source's" info on NoHo, I contacted NoHo's newest JV coach, Dr. Burt Stern. Burt is a former AAU President, and long-time coach of one of the area's finest AAU club teams, the Northridge Knights. I've had the pleasure of coaching Burt's son Nathan, and boy can that kid play. And, he's smart too.

But, I digress. . . Burt says that he's most impressed with the Soph team, which is one very talented, and at least until tomorrow (when they play undefeated Grant), still undefeated team. Burt wasn't saying that the Soph's would lose in their game against Grant, just that only one of the teams would remain undefeated after tomorrow's game. I read him our source's comments about the JV and Varsity for this coming year, and he said that they were pretty close to being accurate; he did say though that he's very impressed with the way Richard Sherman (Jr. 6'0) is playing lately, and that if he keeps up the hard work, that he'll likely see major playing time and possibly start.
