Wrap Up From Last Week--(February 9, 1998)

Here's what happened last week in the various leagues in and around the Pasadena area.

PACIFIC LEAGUE

Muir survived at Crescenta Valley, 65-60, to remain undefeated atop the league with a 7-0 mark. John Parker, who had been the steadiest performer for the Mustangs throughout the season, scored a game high 25 points to go with 16 rebounds. Jon Wilburn and George DeJohnnette scored 13 points each to lead Pasadena to a 71-44 victory over Glendale. The Bulldogs (5-2) are tied for second with Hoover, a 70-59 winner over Arcadia. Dionse Cox had 21 points for the winless Apaches.

RIO HONDO LEAGUE

La Canada (6-1) is in the driver's seat following Wednesday's 83-53 win at Blair behind Matt Moore's 34 points. Monrovia, a 76-72 winner over South Pasadena, is tied for second with Temple City at 5-2.

ALPHA LEAGUE

Marshall (7-0) dominated Maranatha, 83-55, and is home free for the title. Brandon Marshall had 29 points for the Eagles.

MONTVIEW LEAGUE

Duarte (7-0) routed La Puente, 92-69, and has one more obstacle-Bassett (6-1).

SANTA FE LEAGUE

La Salle (6-3) topped Murphy 80-61 to move in second place in one of the most balanced leagues. The Lancers play at Salesian tonight and will host leader Mary Star (7-2) Monday at 7 p.m. in a game that will probably decide the title.
