1988 dada Long Beach Fall Hoops Classic:
ARC-Mid Valley Changes Divisions--(Sept. 9, 1998)

We were told this morning that the Las Vegas Stars may not be coming to the Fall Hoops classic after all, and so in their place and stead, you'll now find the ARC-Mid Valley team, coached by Rob Ichart.

Rob will be coaching both ARC teams, so the Mid-Valley team will receive some coaching assistance from Ruben Sanchez. The ARC Mid-Valley team had originally been scheduled to participate in the "Shootout" division, and we have no idea yet who has taken their place, but we're pretty sure that Dinos won't have any trouble finding a team to replace them in that division.

The ARC Mid-Valley team roster so far as we know consists of:

Cody Pearson (6'-4" So. SG/SF) from Sherman Oaks Notre Dame
Kenny Mason (6'-0" Sr. PG) from Cleveland High in Reseda
Tod Ranzan (sp?) (6'-7" So. F) from Anaheim Servite
Ruben Sanchez (5'-10" So. PG) from West Hills Chaminade
David Franklin (6'-3" So. G) from Van Nuys Grant
T.J. Stevens (6'-1" So. SG) from Clevland
Chris Bennett (6'-8" Sr. PF/C) from Marshall High in Pasadena

The team may also get J.J. Todd (6'-10" Sr. C) from Chaminade, and a couple of other guys who are still in flux, but for now even with only 7 guys, it's still a fairly solid group.

You can now see Mid-Valley play at 10:15 on Friday night against North Riverside at Long Beach City College Auxiliary Gym, and twice on Saturday, first at 12:45 p.m. in the LBCC Main Gym against Houston Hoops, last year's championship team, and then again at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday against the Monsters of the Midway from Ventura.

And if you're trying to figure out where they might be playing on Sunday when things get really interesting, the ARC Mid-Valley team is now in Pool A.
