Day Four Schedule--(July 8, 1998)

We're posting this a couple of days early so that everyone can plan for this Friday ahead of time. Here's the Friday schedule

DOUBLE PUMP WEST COAST ALL STAR CAMP
July 10, 1998
Day Four, First Session

Well, this is it, the last day of the first session. Now that you've memorized the West Coast All Star First Session team assignments, forget them. Because the last day of the camp is devoted to "All-Star" play. You didn't think this was called "West Coast All-Star Camp" for nothing, did you? This is the day when the "best" teams are made up for the "Great Eight" tournament (so-called because the games are eight minutes long), followed by the Freshman-Sophomore All-Stars game featuring the top 14 freshman and sophomores in the Camp, the Junior Class All-Stars featuring the the top 20 Juniors, the "100% Game" in which the top 14 most hardworking and hustling players will compete, the Senior Class All-Star Game featuring the top 20 seniors, and finally the "Best of the Best" game, featuring the top 15 camp players overall against the coaching staff and counselors.

Here's the schedule:

7:30 - 8:15 Breakfast

8:15 Roll call and announcements

8:30 "Great Eight Tournament

A double elimination tournament for all teams. It features EIGHT minute running time games with a winners and a losers bracket. The Pairings for teams will be announced at Roll Call.

10:20 FRESHMAN - SOPHOMORE ALL STAR GAME (TOP 14)

10:40 JUNIOR CLASS ALL STAR GAME (TOP 20)

11:10 100% GAME (THE CAMPS TOP 14 HUSTLERS)

11:30 SENIOR CLASS ALL STAR GAME (TOP 20)

12:00 BEST OF THE BEST (TOP 15 vs COUNSELORS)

Whew. Now we can get on with Double Pump West Coast All-Stars, Session 2, which begins Saturday, July 11, running through Tuesday, July 14, and then it's on to Vegas for the adidas Double Pump Big Time, which runs from the 15th through the 19th, and then back to Dominguez Hills and Carson for the Best of Summer Tournament and Issy Washington's Slam N'Jam NIT, and finally, for the walking wounded it's back to Vegas again for the ARC-Slam N' Jam Las Vegas Grand Finale where everyone finally collapses in a giant heap on the floor all at once. A sight to behold. Don't miss it.
