A Resignation, A Retirement, And Some Kudos--(April 1,1998)

Gahr High boys basketball coach Bruce Erickson resigned after his first season as the head of the Gladiators' program. Erickson directed the Gladiators to a 16-11 record and a second place finish in the San Gabriel Valley League. Gahr lost to Hemet, 59-55, in a CIF Southern Section II-AA wild-card game. Erickson was a long-time assistant at Gahr before taking over when Vern Stewart resigned to become an assistant principal at Sunny Hills. Anyone interested in the Gahr opening should call Athletic Director Tim Brogden at (562) 926-5566.
