CIF State Playoffs: Division V Brackets:
Southern Region and Northern Region--(March 8, 1998)

Southern California vs. Northern California Champion

More brackets. This time both the Southern and Northern brackets for Division V for the CIF "Arco-AM/PM" State Championship playoffs. Since Arco has paid a whole bunch of money to sponsor these games, it's only fitting that they get the publicity they deserve. Kudos to Arco, and to the Arco-Lod Cook Center for Youth Achievement located in Burbank. Their support of CIF basketball throughout the State this year has been greatly appreciated.

No. 1 Seeded Horizon, the defending State Champions are once again the favorite in this divison, although Pacific Hills, seeded at No. 2 has proven in the playoffs that it is worthy of a high seeding. Horizon plays Laguna Blanca, the loser of the Southern Section Division V-A finals to Rolling Hills Prep, the No. 3 seeded team, which itself will play Coast Union, a team we know zero about (but we're looking for info). Santa Clara plays Central Valley Christian, another team which is really pretty much a mystery to those of us here. Pacific Hills' opponent, La Jolla Country Day is known as a perennial favorite in this Division. Look for a matchup between Horizon and Central Valley in the top half of the bracket, and then between Rolling Hills and the winner of the La Jolla v. Pacific Hills game.
