La Quinta Classic Tournament
Pool Play Results--(Dec. 10, 1998)

Monday First Round:

Laguna Beach 66, Lakewood 44--The Lancers got more than they could handle in the Artists' Kurt Beinfohr, who netted a game-high 24 points in a second-round game of the La Quinta Classic. Lakewood was paced by Lamont Mitchell's 14 points and teammate Anthony Evans added 11.

La Quinta 76, Huntington Beach 55-- La Quinta picked up the first round win behind the scoring of Smith with 31 points and Frederickson with 15.  Hutington Beach's high scorer was Theis with 15.

Santa Ana Valley 80, Calvary Chapel 69-- Chris young scored 23 points, followed by Welker with 12 in Calvary Chapel's loss to Santa Ana Valley, which ws led by Eliu Falu who had 18 points. 

Tuesday Second Round:

Loara 95, Garden Grove 56-- Wes Wardrop scored 21 poiknts to lead the Saxons. Others scoring for Loara were Reverdito 4, Patton 17, Garcia 10, Guzman 6, Hoton 14, Moses 5 and B. Wardrop 18.  Garden Grove had only 5 scorers, and was led by Ioane with 11, Sadler 10, Crippen 4, Davis 6 and Quach who had a game high 25 points, including 3 three-pointers.


La Quinta 54, Calvary Chapel 46-- Chris Young scored a game high 22 points to lead the Aztecs.  La Quinta's other scorers were Chau with 18, Fredrickson 11, Sanchez 3.  Calvary Chapel was led by Young with 17, Ampe 8, Pangan 3, Welker 4, Lake 6, Samimi 2, Sherman 6.

Santa Ana Valley 69, Huntington Beach 52--Brothers Hardy and Eliu Falu led the Falcons with 17 and 16 points respectively. Hardy had three three pointers as well. Others scoring for Santa Ana Valley were Trinh 3, Landa 10, Cardenas 8, Ruiz 3, Navaro 2, Lopez 9, and Cervantez with 1 point.  Huntington Beach scoring was Allen 4, Bartolme 10, Theis 2, Borad 17, Patrick 2, Fee 2, Kubelka 9, Spencer 5, and Maki 1.
