Arroyo Tournament Mixed Results--(Dec. 10, 1998)

Monday First Round Games:

Alta Loma 59, Montclair Prep 48-- Montclare's Hohnson scored 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds in the loss.  Freshman Will Sheslow also added 8, while Prince had 9, Lucas had 3 and 5 steals, Freeman 2, and Koljan 4, and Matt Kauman 4.  Adam Parada scored 16 ooints for Alta Loma in the win, and Adam Dohner had 12, Andy Garcia had 9, and Gore had 4.  Carmichaels had 6, Rocco 3, Moore 2, E. Garcia 2, and J. Dohner 7.  Alta Loma improved to 2-1 while Montclair Prep fell to 1-1.

Quarterfinals

Alta Loma 59, Monrovia 49--The Braves (3-1) advanced to a 6 p.m. semifinal today against La Puente Nogales at El Monte Arroyo High School. Adam Dohner scored 12 of his 13 points in the second half to help Alta Loma pull away. Adam Parada added 11 rebounds and Jay Gore had six assists and nine steals.Scoring for Alta Loma was Carmichael 9, Adam Dohner 13, J. Dohner 1, Garcia 6, Gore 13, Moore 2,  and Adam Parada with 15.  Monrovia's scoring was Sech 3, Boykins 12, Parchin 7, Ford 4, Smith 19, Dixon 2, Wallach 2.

La Canada 60, Arcadia 36--Ian Sullivan led La Canada to the second round win over Arcadia, improving La Canada's record to 2-3 on the year. Others scoring for La Canada were Jay Swaner with 12, Madigan with 8, Newmann 7, Turly 2, Frtalan 4, Mcintire 2, Peiper 2, Swenson 1 and Riddel 1. Scoring for Arcadia: Dionse Cox 19, Jasons 8, Epps 4, Hasieh 2, Bass 2.

San Gabriel 63, West Covina 54-- Martin Del Toro scored 13 points to lead San Gabriel to the win over West Covina in this quarterfinal game Wednesday. Del Toro scored three three-pointers; others scoring for San Gabriel were J.R. Canizal with 9, Dennis Carillo 6, Andrew Contreras 2, Joey Giron 8, David Gonzalez 12, and Michael Ashton with 13 (2 three-pointers).  San Gabriel improved to 3-1.  Darryl Berryman scored 8, including two threes, Rashawn Knight 2, Terrence Martin 15, Joey La Bomme 15 including two three pointers, Tremel Fairman 6, and Travis Parker 8 for Arcadia.  

Consolation:

Keppel 42, Workman 32--Keppel was led by Alex Ng with 12 points;  Fai Fun scored 4, Dustin Woo 4, Peter Wang 4, Gabriel Gomez 2, Daniel Nuno 7, Joe Diaz 7, and Jose Aceves had 2.  Workman's high scorer was Michael Williams with 11 points. Keppel's record improved to 2-2.
