Girls' Hoops: LA City Girls' Schedules
Are Now Up Too--(Nov. 25, 1998)

Hey, we didn't do this, but someone else has now done what we've tried to do with boys' basketball,  and that's make available a comprehensive schedule (actually the official schedule) of games, but this time for the girls.  Christopher Jones has created the makings of a fine site for women's basketball, and he's painstakingly hand-entered all of the games from the LA City Section Girls' basketball schedules, for all of the conferences. The schedules can be found at his website, which also features a nice schedule for Cal State Dominguez Hills' Women's team for 1998-99, and the beginnings of a good  message board for discussion of women's college and girls' high school basketball.

The schedules can be found here for the LA City Section Girls' games, and thanks to Chris, we'll be posting them up permanently at SoCalHoops as well, so you'll be able to find them either at his site, or here.  We can't and won't promise that we'll post up the results from these games, but it should make it easier for all you local fans, scouts and college coaches to get to the games you're actually interested in seeing.

Chris also sent along the following letter (we've edited out the uninteresting stuff) and here's what he says:

Yes, please link my site to SoCalHoops, I think that would be great. My interest in girls basketball started when I became a volunteer Independent Producer for Gardena Cable channel 22, we televise the home games for Gardena High, Serra High and Cal State Dominguez Hills, I have several friends who have daughters that play for these teams, and yes, we do televise the boys basketball teams as well.

I have several cable tv shows airing in the South Bay, Los Angeles, Inglewood and Hollywood areas, one is called Sports Talk, which features interviews with the players along with footage from the game. We're looking for people with a vast knowledge of sports to appear on the show as guest hosts.

If you are interested, and would like to volunteer to do play by play for Gardena Cable's Channel 22 then you can reach Chris at   (310) 768-3941 or e-mail him at perexprod@earthlink.net.
