Fullcourt Press' "Top 22 Freshmen To Watch"--(Nov. 11, 1998)

We came across this list posted over at WCH in the message forum, and shortly after seeing it there, we received a full copy of Dinos Trigonis'  Fullcourt Press Fall 1998 High School Underclass Report (Vol. IV, No. 4).   If you're interested in purchasing a copy of the report, we're pretty sure that Dinos would be happy to oblige; if you're interested in subscription information, give him a call at (310) 669-2307.  The list we saw posted at WCH was the  "22 Top Freshmen To Watch". These are listed in alphabetical order. Here it is:

Omar Amaro (5'-11" Fr. G) Santa Ana Valley HS
Jeremiah Barnes (5'-5" Fr. PG) Rowland HS
Evan Burns (6'-3" Fr. F) Fairfax HS
Lawrence Carrier (6'-5" Fr. SG) Redlands HS
DeAngelo Collins (6'-8" Fr. F) Tustin HS
Jacob Crawley (5'-7" Fr. PG) Artesia HS
Kevin Edmunds (6'-5" Fr. F) Fountain Valley HS
Keith Ellison (5'-9" Fr. PG) Redondo Union HS
Keith Everage (6'-4" Fr. SG/SF) Westchester HS
David Gale (5'-11" Fr. PG) Buckley HS
Patrick Haddon (6'-0" Fr. PG) Mater Dei HS
Brandon Heath (6'-2" Fr. SG/SF) Westchester HS
Jason McKinney (5'-10" Fr. PG) Westchester HS
Travis Niesen (6'-5" Fr. F) Mission Viejo HS
Michael Roche (6'-5" Fr. F) Long Beach Poly HS
Darius Sanders (6'-5" Fr. F) Dominguez HS
Dominique Sims (5'-10" Fr. PG) Sonora HS
Kevin Stacey (6'-2" Fr. SG) Santa Margarita HS
Jon Steffanson (6'-3" Fr. SG) Artesia HS
Mike Strawberry (6'-4" Fr. F) Mater Dei HS
Jamal Walls (6'-6" Fr. F) Crenshaw HS
Adam Zahn (6'-5" Fr. F) Redondo HS

Obviously, this list just covers a fraction of the incoming freshmen players in the SoCal area. It's a pretty good group, and while we would have added a few more names to the list (like Will Sheslow (6'-0" Fr. PG) from Montclair Prep, Craig Weinstein (5'-10" Fr. PG) from Harvard-Westlake,  Charlie Kranzdorf (6'-1" Fr. SG/SF) also from Montclair Prep) we can't argue with any of the selections.  The list was compiled by Dino Trigonis, one of the founders and organizers of the Rim Rattler All-Star Camp, organizer of the Long Beach Fall Hoops Classic and the MLK Challenge (now the "MLK Nike Dream Classic") which will be played this year at Pauley Pavilion on Monday, January 18, and several of these players will be playing, like the guys from Mater Dei, Fairfax, Redondo, and Crenshaw.  Dinos and his staff have seen a lot of talented players over the years so we can hardly argue with their selections.

Again, if you're interested in picking up a copy of the Fullcourt Press Fall 1998 High School Uncerclass Report, or if you're interested in becoming a subscriber to one of the better recruiting newsletters in SoCal (subscribed to by hundreds of colleges) give Dinos a call at the Fullcourt Press Hotline, (310) 669-2307.
