Jaqay Carlisle Shines At The
Charlie Webber Invitational--(Oct. 6, 1999)

We wanted to mention this before it got too old, and really we've been meaning to make mention of it, but somehow we keep getting sidetracked by other things (like work, kids, business, life and other people's problems. . . .).  Jaqay Carlisle (6'-6" Gr. SG/SF) who played for IEBP last year and throughout the summer, who is at Holdernes Prep School, played at the Charlie Webber Invitational two weekends ago, and from the reports we've been getting, performed very well, hitting in double figures in the first game and attracting a lot of attention from some of the eastern colleges.  He's been working out with the weights and in a strength and conditioning course at the prep school, and will shortly begin basketball practice.  He's also playing football (just for fun), but will be tearing up the court in the Prep B league (which we understand also competes against Salisbury Prep, which is where Avery Queen and Lawrence Carrier are supposed to be enrolled this year.).   College coaches who are looking for a smooth shooting, excellent rebounding wing player with great ball knowledge and court sense should definitely make a point of checking him out this season.
