Venice High Gets Another
Good One: Steven Brown--(Oct. 25, 1998)

We just got off the phone with Venice High coach Dave Goosen who called to tell us a few things about Venice's December schedule (more about that in a separate article) and he couldn't resist telling us about yet another great new player who showed up over at Venice at the end of September. We earlier featured some articles about some of the Venice transfers, including Joe Dural, Montel Duhon, David Vance, and the others, and we've also already done a High School Team Preview of Venice as well.  So consider this an addendum to our earlier Preview:

Steven Brown (6'-4" So. SG/SF), who attended The Brentwood School (Delphic League with Crossroads, Campbell Hall, Pacific Hills, Montclair), enrolled at Venice in September. Apparently Brown played for Brentwood's varsity as a freshman last year. He's strong, quick, and really more of a three than a two, according to Dave, but also has a nice shot out to three and can spot up when needed.

So, not only is Venice going to be scary and good this season, they'll also be fairly young and loaded with good guards and small forwards for the next several years.
