Shomari Sarpy's Schedule
Is Shaping Up--(Oct. 2, 1998)

Wow, say that five times really fast. :-0) We had a chance to talk with Shomari Sarpy (6'-9" Sr. C) from Pomona, who is a hugely   talented guy, in addition to being a pretty huge guy, and an extremely gifted athlete.  Shomari is very agile, runs the floor as well as any big man in the class (if not one of the best) and he can shoot well, dunks and rebounds with a passion.   While he does need to work on his post up moves, he's attracted a lot of attention, and he has a very high upside.

Right now, he's involved with a lot of schools, and is trying to narrow down the list before he starts to take home visits and official visits. Currently he's involved with Boise State, San Jose State, St. Mary's, Northern Arizona, Texas-Pan American, and UC Irvine.  He's in the process of setting up home visits with most of these schools, and plans on taking all five official visits.  He had some visits arranged, but then had to change them when an emergency came up.   Look for Shomari to sign in the spring.  Personally, we think he'd be great at San Jose or UC Irvine, and hopefully he'll be able to qualify.
