Pat Hamblin Named Boys' Basketball
Coach At Village Christian--(Oct. 9, 1998)

According to the LA Times Thursday edition, Pat Hamblin has been hired to coach boys' basketball at Village Christian High.  Hamblin, who is also a graduate of Village Christian, coached the junior varsity last season, and he will succeed Brian Gibson, who stepped down to spend more time with his family.  Gibson will still act as baseball coach and will assist Hamblin in basketball.

Village Christian plays in the small school Alpha League against other school like LA Baptist, Maranatha, Marshall Fundamental, and Vasquez. Last season, Village Christian finished with a record of  10-15, but still advanced to the Division IV-A Southern Section playoffs, but lost in the first round to Whittier Christian, 80-66.  In that game, Paul Tait  of Village Christian, scored 22 points for the Crusaders. We have no idea who's on this year's team,  but we're sure someone out there will give us the inside scoop on the team.
