Koko Archibong Also Visits The Quakers--(Oct. 4, 1998)

We hear from coach Brad Hall that Spencer Gloger (6'-5" Sr. SG/SF) from Santa Margarita wasn't alone at Penn this weekend.  Seems he had some company from another SoCal player, Koko Archibong (6'-7" Sr. SF) from Pasadena Poly.   Koko has played for several good club teams lately, including the Rockfish Orcas most recently at the Pump Fall Discovery Shootout, and he was one of the leading scorers for Pasadena Poly last season, averaging something like 18 or 19 points a game, and was named to the All-Southern Section CIF Division V team last year.

Archibong, is tall, wiry and thin, but has great accuracy. He's got a huge wing-span, good jumping ability, and can hit the j out to about 18'.   He's worked steadily on his handle throughout the summer, and picked up some valuable playing time this summer in Vegas and other big-time tournaments.  He's definitely a three on his high school and club teams, but look for him to switch between the two and three spots in college.  Frankly, we can't imagine that Penn would want both Spencer and Koko, but perhaps they're thinking of Koko at the three or maybe even the four spot and Spencer at the one-two combo spot, which, come to think of it, would make for a pretty good combination.   Hmmm, gonna have to get that satellite hookup to be able to catch the Penn games on the tube.
