Spencer Gloger Has NOT Committed
To Princeton. . .Yet.--(May 23, 1999)

Yesterday we received an e-mail from Jim Downs, who told us that his webhost server had crashed and so he wasn't able to post this to his own site, and he wanted us to get the word out.

If you'll recall, on Friday, Jim reported on his UCLA Bruins website that Spencer Gloger (6'-6" Sr. SG/SF) from Santa Margarita HS was still considering the Bruins, and that the Bruins still had a good shot at signing him.

And you'll also recall that on the same day (Friday) Tracy Pierson over at PacWestHoops reported that Spencer had committed to Princeton, passing up offers from UCLA and Oregon.

So what's the real story? Well, we tried to get in touch with Spencer, and so did Jim Downs, and we presume that Tracy was also trying to reach Spencer as well.  And while we weren't successful, apparently Jim was.

Spencer told Downs that contrary to reports on the internet, he has NOT committed to Princeton. He is still considering UCLA, Oregon, and Princeton.

About the report that he committed to  Princeton Spencer told Downs:  "That is definitely not true."  Gloger added that some of the schools he is looking at inquired about the rumors, and he's been busy calling all the coaches who are involved to tell them that he still has not made a decision.   According to Downs, Gloger informed "a confused Steve Lavin Friday evening"  that he had not, in fact, committed to Princeton.

Gloger told Downs that he expects to make his decision by Sunday night or Monday morning.
