Jerry Norley: Nick Greene Signs With USD;
DeGreneir To Portland St.--(May 6, 1999)

Last night, too late for us to post it, we got an e-mail from our friend Jerry Norley, the Arizona connection (the letter was also addressed to Mike Miller, so I guess we're now on the big-time list), and Jerry informed us of the following:

"I spoke with Mesa Community College Coach Joedy Gardner and he informed me that Nick Greene, former Oregon St. Beaver and former Phoenix Shadow Mountain Teammate of Mike Bibby has signed a LOI with the University of San Diego. Greene is a 6 ft 7 inch forward that can play both small and power forward for Brad Holland's club. He is a solid athlete who averaged about 16 points and 10 rebounds a game for a balanced MCC squad that included JC All American Ernest Brown and Iowa St. signee Thomas Watkins. He's strong enough to play inside and has the athleticism to play the wing spot as  well. Look for Greene to come in and start right away.

"Additionally, Bred DeGrenier, a 6 ft 1 inch guard from Scottsdale Community College has signed with Portland St. DeGrenier averaged about 19 points a game and was the second leading scorer in Arizona JC ball. A solid pickup for Portland St.
