Fullerton Won't Appeal NCAA Four
Year Probation--(May 14, 1999)

This was actually reported earlier this week by the Times and the Register, but better late than never here at SoCalHoops:  Cal State Fullerton has announced that it will not appeal the four-year probation and other penalties handed down by the NCAA last week against the men's basketball program, according to Judith Anderson, university executive vice president.  Anderson told reporters: "We met, discussed the report and decided that, at this point, it's more important to focus on the future than the past. We've spent a lot of time on this, and we want to move forward."  Under terms of the probation, Fullerton is banned from giving scholarships to community college basketball players for three years and scholarships in the program will be reduced from 13 to 11 for each of the next two years.
