Chris Bennett Reportedly Signs
With Northern Arizona--(April 22, 1999)

We just received word that Chris Bennett (6'-10" Sr. PF/C) from Pasadena Marshall Fundamental has signed a letter of intent with Northern Arizona University.  We have not spoken with Chris to confirm this yet, but our sources tell us that after taking visits to Nevada Reno and Northern Arizona, Chris decided to sign with the Lumberjacks and new coach Mike Adras who took over recently for Ben Howland.

Chris was being recruited last fall by UMKC but then his recruitment all but stopped during the season. Chris had a pretty good spring playing in the Rockfish Spring League and attracted some additional attention from NAU and other schools during the league.  Chris also had a great couple of days and impressed a lot of coaches in mid-March when he played with the San Diego Rising Stars at the Double Pump Discovery Shootout.

Chris will be the second-tallest big man on the team after Dan McClintock (7'-0" Jr. C) from Visalia who attended Goden West JC, and  Casey Grundman (6'-10" Fr. C) from Phoenix St. Mary's H.S.)
