Between Rockfish, Pump N Run (high school and JC), the Fullcourt Press Spring thing on Friday night, ARC, Maccabi basketball, and a few other assorted odds and ends, like the State Finals in Sacramento (and forget about the NCAA Tournament, including the UCLA Women's run through the Western Regionals), we have been way too busy to get to the stats from this game. But here they finally are. And there are some very revealing statistics, which indicate why Mater Dei lost and Fremont won. Remember the Artesia v. Mater Dei game, a veritable foul-festival? Well this game put that one to shame. In this one, four players fouled out, two on each team, and two other Fremont players were playing with 4 fouls by the end of the game. Fremont's pressing style also rattled Mater Dei's shooters, and as you look down the sheet below, check out the three-point shooting percentage for Mater Dei (actually, it was 10%, 1-10). We also got word from one of our sources that Jamal Sampson basically played one handed after injuring himself on the rim in the first half, and that was another critical factor. Oh well, there's always next year. In the meantime, here are the cold, hard numbers.
