Los Al plays in Division I-AA of SS CIF,  while Chaminade is the defending CIF-SS Division III-A champ.  Los Al has not had great success in post season, losing in the first round the last two years in a row, but this year with international senior scoring sensation Andrew Pleick, a native of Switzerland who’s signed to play next year at Bradley University and who is averaging more than 20 ppg, Los Al is looking to turn that around and make a challenge for a SS title.  The Griffins finished with a 20-9 record and will improve on that this year. Pleick will be helped with the great shooting of Ronnie Prettyman, Keenan Howry and the great point play of Ryan Keller and Jeff Smith. Look for them to matchup against Clarence Mitchell, a truly good outside shooter, and Ryan Arceo, Nick Lawson and Art Egidio.

Up front though is where the really big matchups will occur as  Jeff Grgas, Ken Carter and Brian Rakusin matchup against Scott Borchart and J.J. Todd, who has signed to play with USCB next year. Joel Jelinowicz,  who will matchup most likely agaisnt Mitchell and Canoles, or Darren Tarlow, an extremely active forward who is getting some attention lately from a few D-I's and a lot of D-II's.

Given the results both of these teams have had this year, we're not making any predictions.  Chaminade is probably not as strong a team as they were last year, from a pure talent point of view, but they are still very good; Los Al is definitely better and should big the Eagles all they can handle.

A great game, 10:30 a.m. at Cal State Dominguez Hills.   See you there.
